The Three Basic Body Types - Ectomorph, Mesomorph and Endomorph

We all have different bodies. Some are skinny or masculine,  others are fat and obese. The first thing you need to do if want to improve your health is know your basic body type. Our human bodies can come in many different variants but basically everybody's body comes under one of the three broad categories namely Ectomorph, Mesomorph and Endomorph.

Let's elaborate these types in detail to make you understand in which category you come under.

Ectomorph

Ectomorphs are the skinny guys or popularly known as the hard gainers. A hard gainer is the one who can't gain weight very easily. They are mainly characterized by long limbs and stringy muscles. The tend to have small shoulders with little width. The bone structure is mainly very delicate with small joints. Flat chest is also a notable character. They have a lean muscle mass and have a very fast metabolism. Due to this fast metabolic rate they need to eat a lot than the other two body types to gain weight.

Mesomorph

A mesomorph usually has an athletic body with well defined muscles. They usually possess a rectangular structure and have very strong muscles. They have the ideal metabolic rate which helps them gain and loose weight very easily. Everything they eat is well absorbed by their bodies as per its need keeping them fit and active without any additional efforts. Building muscle is easiest for mesomorphs.

Endomorphs

Endomorphs are the people with a short but wide structure. They really have a soft and round body with no well defined muscles. These people are mostly chubby and tend to get obese very easily. They tend to gain fat very easily the reason being their slow metabolic rate. Whatever they eat gets absorbed as much as possible increasing their weight drastically. Hence in order to loose weight they must eat a very low calorie meal accompanied with a regular workout.
